Ecology and Conservation

Marine conservation

Marine conservation research seeks to protect and preserve ocean ecosystems and marine life. It focuses on understanding the impacts of human activities, such as pollution and overfishing, and developing strategies to mitigate these effects. We monitor marine species, habitats, and environmental changes, aiming to sustain biodiversity and promote healthy oceans. This field combines biology, ecology, and environmental science to ensure the long-term health of marine environments for future generations. See also the wider Exeter Marine group, that draws on researchers from across the whole University.

Each of our research themes bring together a diverse set of researchers from within the Department and beyond. Follow the links to their full profiles to find out more about their research interests.
