Ecology and Conservation

Animal behaviour & cognition

The way in which animals process information is fundamental to our understanding of the natural world. This field encompasses everything from how animals communicate and form social bonds, to their ability to learn, remember, and problem-solve. Our research provides insights into human-wildlife conflict, guides conservation efforts, and builds a deeper understanding similarities and differences between humans and other animals.

Each of our research themes bring together a diverse set of researchers from within the Department and beyond. Follow the links to their full profiles to find out more about their research interests.
