Overview

I am interested in understanding the physiological mechanisms underlying the evolution of life history traits. My research is at the interface between evolutionary biology, behavioural ecology and ecophysiology.

During my PhD, I investigated the role of oxidative stress as a constraint for life history traits using captive Seba’s short-tailed bats (Carollia perspicillata). I was particularly interested in the effect of early life adversity on development, as well as the expression of reproductive tactics in males.

I am currently working on a project looking at the transgenerational costs of reproduction and the evolution of life histories with Prof. Jon Blount and Prof. Mike Cant as part of the Banded Mongoose Research Project.

In the near future, I also plan to study multiple mating in both males and females in banded mongooses, while investigating the physiological constraints underlying multiple mating.
