I am a first year PhD student, my project is Ecosystem Assessment of the Tristan da Cunha Islands Fisheries, with a focus on using BRUV and eDNA analysis to assess the impacts of invasive species.
I previously completed my MSc Marine Biology and BSc Marine Biology and Zoology degrees at Bangor University. Where I studied the effectivness of Marine Protected Areas around the Cayman Islands and the impacts of invasive species of freshwater communities.
Before starting my PhD, I spent two years as a Scientific Fisheries Observer of the Falkland Islands, working at sea to collect data on the fishery to advise the management and sustainability of the fishery.
In the University of Exeter, my PhD is being supervised by Dr Kristian Metcalfe , Dr Sam Weber, and Dr Nicola Weber in collaboration with CEFAS and the Tristan da Cunha Island Fisheries.
