About me:
I am a behavioural ecologist studying the evolution of insect migration strategies, and the population and community-level effects of these long-range movements on natural ecosystems and human environments. I focus on a variety of taxa (Lepidoptera, Diptera, Hemiptera, Odonata), including pests and disease vectors as well as beneficial species, as my model organisms, and my main research tools of the past 25 years have been entomological radar, tethered flight systems, atmospheric trajectory simulations and aerial sampling.
