About me:

I am the Co-Director Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity for the Centre for Ecology and Conservation. I am passionate about creating an inclusive environment where people can feel comfortable and valued being themselves.

I also lead pastural support for undergraduate students in my role as Undergraduate Senior Academic Tutor. As Lead Academic Tutor I have a strong focus on staff tutoring, peer tutoring and the undergraduate experience as a whole. I teach first and second year undergraduate modules and run research projects on microbiology and disease.

I deliver staff training across Exeter’s campuses. I was Director of the Learning and Teaching in Higher Education Course in Cornwall between 2010-2014 and currently contribute to the Universities Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice programme (PCAP). I am an Academic Advisor and ASPIRE mentor.

I am a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (PFHEA) (2023).

In 2018 I was also awarded a National Teaching Fellowship from Advance HE (formerly the Higher Education Academy) the most prestigious individual higher education award in the UK. This was in recognition of my impact supporting students and staff nationally.
